Dear Friends and Partners,
There is one verse in the Book of Acts that caught my attention this week. I kept thinking about that very short, but very powerful statement Jesus made, “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. (Acts 20: 35) “That’s interesting, – I thought to myself, – giving is better than receiving”. But we like it so much to receive presents. We like it when people pay attention to us. That’s pretty obvious that in general everyone likes receiving more than giving. Why then does the Bible makes the opposite statement?
John 10: 10 gives us the key for understanding why giving is better than receiving. Here Jesus declares the purpose of His coming into this world, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”. It is simply impossible to give something what you don’t have. That’s why God’s plan for your life is to bring you to the level of abundance, so that from that abundance you could share and help others. In other words, giving is better than receiving, because when you start giving, it proves that you live a life of abundance.
What do you know about Burma? In 2,000 when God spoke to us that we would minister not only to Indians but Burmese also, we didn’t know much about that country. During last 10 years our mission was mostly focused on India, but a couple of weeks ago something really exciting happened. Christians who run for their lives from Burma to India asked us if we could start our Walking on Water Faith Bible School in their church. When we have visited their humble church in one of the remote areas of Delhi, we got to know more about what kind of persecutions and sufferings they have experienced for their faith. With tears, they shared with us how they had to leave everything behind and flee to India from oppressive military regime that rules their country.
Will we support our Burmese brothers and sisters in their sufferings? Will we use this amazing opportunity to teach them about faith and equip them for ministry so that when the doors for the Gospel will open for Burma, they could come back home ready for harvest? We need your support as we start one more WOW Faith Bible School for this church.
Dear Friends, for the last 10 years we are making a difference in India, rescuing children from human trafficking, building children’s homes and changing lives. Without your faithful support we couldn’t do what we are doing. Thank you for helping the weak, and remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. (Acts 20:35)
